大学センター共通一次「英語問題」

私は、６５歳。大学センター共通一次試験開設当初から、欠かさず、「英語」と「国語」の問題だけ解答を試み続けて来ている。本年も、もちろん挑戦した。かなりの出来栄えで、自己採点90点。
印象に残った英語問題は、第３問の問２で出題された「egoism利己主義」の反語「愛他主義altruism」に関する英文である。このaltruismは、私の大好きな言葉なので、楽しく設問に取り組めた。以下問題英文の拙訳。
「愛他的行動は、人間固有のものなのか？　私の体験では、この行動は人間だけでなく動物の世界にも存在する。私は、農牧場でいろんな動物に囲まれて育った。ある時、大型犬に襲われ、大声で必死に助けを求めた。すると、遠くの放牧場で草を啄ばんでいた一匹の馬が急いで走り寄ってきて、その大型犬を追い散らしてくれたのである。それから、私たちが可愛がっている飼い猫が、数匹の他所犬に攻撃されたとき、私たちの飼い犬が大声で吼え続け、その憎い他所犬どもを追い出したこともあった。」
人間の内面には、「altruism愛他主義」と「egoism利己主義」が巣くっている。両者共存の比率がどうかで、善玉人間と悪玉人間に峻別されるのだ。手弁当で、被災者の支援をするボランティア精神旺盛な方たちや、溺れそうな人だとか線路に落ちた人を自分の身の危険をかえりみず人命救助する方たちはaltruism人間である。このaltruismこそ、今の世に必要な精神と思う。だから、この言葉は、私の座右の銘なのだ。
前記の問題英文を参考に下に掲示。
「Are acts of altruism unique to human beings ？ From my experience, I must say that they are also present in the animal world. I was raised on a farm and was brought up surrounding by animals. Once I was being attacked by a large dog and began yelling for help. A horse came running up from a distant field and chased away the dog. We also had a dog that protected our cat. When the cat was being attacked by other dogs, our dog drove them away by barking.」

I am 65 years old. It doesn't lack after National Center for University Entrance Examination is established, and I keep trying the answer of the problem of "English" and "National language". Of course, I challenged it this year. The answer result was splendid. Man has both of "Altruism" and "Egoism" internally. The amount of an inside share of both distinguishes man's quality sharply."altruism" is this maxim of me.
